Ten Waves
A downloadable game for Windows and Android
Ten Waves is a bullet hell with a boss who (almost) never moves and a lot of white dots.
You are a red dot. The boss fires wave after wave at you. In Endless you just survive as long as you can. In Showdown you fight back and pick upgrades.
Gamemodes
Endless Survive. The longer you last, the more you score, and the multiplier keeps climbing. Move with WASD or the arrow keys.
Showdown
The boss has HP and you can shoot it. Move with WASD, shoot with the arrow keys. Every 10 seconds the game freezes and you pick one of three upgrade cards. The boss speeds up when it gets low, and >:) is a full three-phase fight: in phase 2 you have to break a stone to bring the boss's shield down, and then you choose how the finale goes.
Difficulties
Endless: :) :P :/ D: @_@ ;-;
Showdown: :) :P :/ D: >:)
Every difficulty has its own waves, 50 hand-made ones in total. Some home in on you, freeze and re-aim, bounce, split, orbit, bend around gravity wells, sway like blinds, or come at you as a wall with one gap. The two hardest modes, ;-; and >:), unlock once you have 10 AP.
Upgrades (showdown)
Over 60 cards in five rarities: common, rare, epic, legendary and mythic. Slow the bullets down, shrink your hitbox, shield yourself, erase the screen, blink across the arena, turn into a black hole, or fire shots that curve into the boss on their own. Mythic cards are rare and unlock at 5 AP. The Luck setting (unlocked at 15 AP) changes how often you see the good stuff.
Achievements and AP rewards
There are 51 achievements, from "start a run" to things you will probably never do. Each one has a difficulty rating from 1 to 1000 and gives 1 AP. AP unlocks rewards:
- 5 AP: mythic cards
- 10 AP: the hardest modes,
;-;and>:) - 15 AP: Luck multiplier
- 20 AP: custom accent color
- 25 AP: enemy bullet speed setting
- 30 AP: damage multiplier
- 35 AP: stats page
- 40 AP: always-on hitbox option
- 45 AP: Showdown boss HP setting
- 50 AP: golden title
Changing the Luck, bullet speed, damage or boss HP settings turns scores and achievements off, so the leaderboard-style bests stay honest.

just download it, windows might warn about an unknown publisher the first time, because the file isn't code-signed. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway".
Android download
Download Ten Waves.apk and open it. Android will ask you to allow installing apps from this source. The game needs Android 7 or newer, and an internet connection for the pixel fonts (without one it falls back to a plain, BORING font).
